Private chat analysis: what to check before uploading a conversation
Personal conversations deserve care. Before you upload an export anywhere, take a minute to understand what the tool asks for, what you are sharing, and whether you are comfortable proceeding.
Know what you are uploading
Open the export first. It may include names, timestamps, and messages you did not intend to revisit. Choose only a conversation you are comfortable using.
Prefer the minimum you need
When exporting from WhatsApp, choose Without Media. It keeps photos, videos, and voice notes out of the file when you only want text-based insights.
Understand the tool's boundaries
Look for plain-language information about account access, payment, and data use. ReadMyChat does not require your WhatsApp password or connect to your WhatsApp account; you decide which export to upload.
